Measurement Disclaimer
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Online Protractor is a browser-based visual measurement and documentation aid. It is not calibrated metrology equipment, a surveying instrument, a medical device or a substitute for professional judgment.
Accuracy limitations
Results depend on manual point placement, image resolution, compression, lens distortion, perspective, screen scaling and the alignment of source lines. Decimal digits shown by the interface do not prove equivalent real-world accuracy. Repeating a measurement can help reveal placement variation but does not calibrate the source image.
Image and perspective effects
An angle in a photograph may differ from the physical angle when the camera is not perpendicular to the measurement plane or when the object is not flat. Cropping, resizing and perspective correction can also affect interpretation. Use a suitable reference plane and calibrated method when physical dimensions matter.
Critical and professional uses
Do not rely on Online Protractor alone for safety-critical, structural, construction, manufacturing acceptance, navigation, legal, medical or other high-consequence decisions. Verify with calibrated equipment, source drawings and a qualified professional appropriate to the task.
PDF measurement reports
PDF reports document browser inputs and ray results at a point in time. They are not calibration certificates, inspection approvals or professional attestations.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for confirming that your source image, point placement, units, interpretation and verification method are appropriate. Keep source files and independent records for important work. Stop using the result if it conflicts with calibrated measurements or professional requirements.
