These Terms of Service govern your use of the online protractor. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before using the tool.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the online protractor, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Description of Service
Online Protractor is a web application for measuring angles in images and diagrams. Free includes one local image, one protractor, ray measurement, manual JSON backup and 1x PNG export and may display Google AdSense ads. Plus Lifetime adds multiple objects, grid/ruler/snapping, advanced exports and recovery of the last local workspace. Pro Lifetime adds named local projects and PDF reports. Plus and Pro do not load advertising. The service is provided 'as is' without guarantees of availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. Features may change with notice where required.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not use the service to measure, analyze, or process content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. You may not attempt to interfere with the service's operation, security, or infrastructure. You may not use automated tools to access the service in ways that could damage or overload our systems. We reserve the right to terminate access for users who violate these terms.
Intellectual Property
The online protractor website, including its design, code, and content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use the service for personal, educational, or commercial purposes, but you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the website code without permission. Content you create using the tool (measurements, exported images, data files) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your content.
User Content and Data
You retain all rights to images and measurements you create using the tool. By loading content, you confirm that you have the right to use it and that it does not violate third-party rights. Workspaces, images and projects are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers by the measuring workflow. Optional account identity and plan entitlement are stored on our servers so access can be restored after sign-in, but local projects do not sync between devices. We do not monitor or control measurement content in your browser. You are responsible for exporting JSON backups before clearing site data, changing browsers or changing devices.
Accounts and Payments
Free measurement does not require an account. Google sign-in is required to purchase and restore Plus or Pro account entitlement. Creem is the Merchant of Record and handles checkout, applicable tax, invoices and approved refunds. Online Protractor receives signed payment events and limited references needed to grant or revoke access; it does not receive full payment-card details. A checkout return URL does not grant access by itself.
One-time Plans and Lifetime Access
Plus costs USD 9.99 once, Pro costs USD 19.99 once and a Plus-to-Pro upgrade costs USD 10.00 once, subject to the amount and tax shown at checkout. These are not recurring subscriptions. 'Lifetime' means access to the purchased local plan features while Online Protractor continues to operate and support that plan; it does not promise perpetual operation or automatically include future cloud, AI, collaboration or separately sold products. Earlier valid USD 4.99 lifetime ad-free purchasers are upgraded to Pro at no extra charge. Free visitors may receive Google AdSense ads; Plus, Pro and upgraded legacy members do not load advertising.
Refunds and Disputes
Refund eligibility and effects are described in the Refund Policy. Approved full refunds are returned through Creem without an additional customer processing deduction by Online Protractor, although exchange rates, bank fees and posting times may vary. A refund, chargeback or payment dispute can remove the corresponding entitlement. Contact support before initiating a dispute when possible.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the accuracy of angle measurements or the suitability of the tool for any particular purpose. While we strive for accuracy, measurement results should be verified for critical applications. Use of the service is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes damages for loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claims related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, for the specific paid feature related to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the online protractor and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights. This includes claims related to content you upload or measurements you create.
Export and Data Portability
Every plan can export and import a manual JSON workspace backup and export 1x PNG. Plus and Pro also provide CSV, JPEG, overlay-only and 2x/4x image exports; Pro adds PDF reports. You may use exported data with other tools. You are responsible for maintaining backups of important work because local browser data can be cleared and does not sync across devices.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict account or paid-feature access for fraud, abuse, unlawful use, security risk, payment reversal or a material breach of these terms, with notice when reasonably practicable and legally permitted. If the overall service is discontinued, local exports previously downloaded remain yours, but browser-based operation may no longer be available. Provisions that by nature survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers and limitations, continue to apply. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law, without excluding mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Disputes may be brought in a court or forum with lawful jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited only as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
